LAST STOP KEW GARDENS traces the story of first generation American children raised by German and Austrian survivors of the Holocaust in Queens, New York. In the documentary film, Cornell University professor, novelist and filmmaker Robert H. Lieberman returns to his hometown to discover what happened to the children he grew up with in the German-speaking, refugee community of Kew Gardens in the 1940s and メ50s. Despite the enormous losses of their immigrant parents, Lieberman discovers that many of his peers prospered, including talk show host Jerry Springer, Emmyᆴ award-winning producer/writer Joshua Brand, co-creator of TV series St. Elsewhere and Northern Exposure, Rona Elliot of NBC's モToday, and comedian Robert Schimmel. On Wednesday, April 22 at 10 p.m., WLIW21 New York Public Television presents the exclusive broadcast premiere of LAST STOP KEW GARDENS as part of special programming in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day.
