Yoga In The Park

Many of the parks in NYC have free weekly outdoor yoga classes. We have been wanting this to come to Forest Park for a long time now but it hasn't so we have gathered all of the information from other parks department offices that do it and we are considering taking some time to get a program set up. We are thinking to have it on Saturday mornings from 10am - 11am in Sobelsohn Park (in Forest Park between Park Lane and Union tpk.) from May to August. It would be free for all and people would just need to bring their own mats or towels. If you are interested in this please let me know so we can begin to get an estimated number of attendees to work with for permits, sponsorships, etc.  Also if you are a business and you are interested in sponsorship please email us. Thanks!

  2. Hi ALL, So, Some good news! We now have the sponsor, the yoga instructors, and the permits almost in place to host Kew Gardens/Forest Hills first free Yoga In The Park program. We will meet in Forest Park at Sobelsohn Park between Union tpk and Park Lane from 10-11 am for 16 Saturday mornings from May to August. The location is beautiful and very central for all residents of Kew Gardens and Forest Hills to come to. We are trying to get the date of the first session down with the park now but it will either be the 9th or the 16th of May. The program is free and All are welcome, you will just need to bring your own mat or towel. I will post back here and on kewgardensblog.blogspot.com soon to let everyone know the first date.

Please leave a comment and let us know if it is not letting you leave one so we can resolve that problem. And Keep trying! The site gets a little screwy sometimes...
